It’s been a while since my last update, and I wanted to share what’s been happening over the past couple of months. I had to take a break from the plot due to health issues. I’ve been in and out of the hospital, which has kept me away from our plot more than I’d like.

In late spring, I set up some growing spots on a smaller scale here at home. This has gone brilliantly, and I’ve enjoyed my evening pottering and picking salad to eat immediately (more on this to come).

As I begin to feel better, I’ve been able to visit our allotment again. It was quite a sight – overgrown and wild after months of neglect. But instead of feeling overwhelmed, I’m filled with determination and excitement. I see it as an opportunity to start fresh, to rediscover our green haven, and to get my hands back into the soil.

The first steps will be to tackle the overgrowth and bring the allotment back to its former glory, or maybe even better than before! I’ll share the ups and downs, the progress, and the joy of reclaiming the plot. For those of you who have had similar breaks from your gardening spaces, I hope this will be a source of inspiration and a reminder that it’s never too late to get back into it. If I can tame the wild jungle, I’m sure you can too!

I started this weekend by reclaiming the pathways and strimming until my batteries ran out!

Thank you all for your support and understanding. Here’s to new beginnings and the healing power of gardening.

Happy growing,
Sarah
